Leadership
Meet Your Portfolio Manager
One advisor. One relationship. Direct access to the person managing your wealth.
Principal & Chief Investment Officer
J. Winston Booth, CEBS
He founded Bancroft Booth Capital Advisors to bridge the gap between institutional-grade risk management and private wealth.
With a background in active trading and technical analysis, he offers clients an alternative to the passive models typical of large brokerage firms. His approach combines macro-level market analysis with disciplined risk management, aiming to deliver positive returns while protecting capital during downturns.
For conservative savers, he acts as a protective steward and planner. For qualified investors seeking absolute returns, he operates as a true partner, offering a performance-based fee structure where he earns nothing unless the portfolio exceeds a meaningful benchmark.

Professional Background
A Career Built on Discipline and Conviction
Winston's career in financial services began at Wells Fargo, where he developed the risk management discipline that now defines Bancroft Booth's approach. Working inside one of the largest financial institutions in the country gave him firsthand insight into how the traditional advisory model serves -- and often fails -- individual investors.
After earning his CEBS designation and passing the Series 7, 24, and 66 examinations, he made the decision to leave the wirehouse system and build something better: an advisory practice where the advisor's compensation is directly tied to client outcomes.

What Sets Us Apart
The Bancroft Booth Difference
One Advisor, One Relationship
You work directly with your portfolio manager. No hand-offs to junior associates, no committee-driven decisions. When you call, you reach the person making the investment decisions.
Fiduciary Standard
We are legally bound to act in your best interest. Our advisory compensation comes directly from you through transparent, published fee schedules.
Performance Accountability
Our Performance Partnership model charges zero management fees. We earn only when your portfolio exceeds a meaningful hurdle rate. No other local firm offers this level of alignment.
Independent Custody
Your assets are held at Interactive Brokers in your name. We have trading authority but never take custody of your funds. Your assets are always yours.
Our Approach
Active Management for Absolute Return
We do not believe in the set-it-and-forget-it approach that leaves your wealth vulnerable to market crashes. Our philosophy centers on three principles: active risk management, tactical agility, and a focus on absolute returns rather than relative performance.
Whether you choose the Wealth Management model or the Performance Partnership, the same investment discipline applies. The difference is in how we are compensated, not how we manage your money.
